Decembers

i don’t know if you remember

what you said to me last December

but i do

i always do.

laying there with you in embers

i remember

the feeling of surrender

body heat against mine

lips touching underneath the moonlight

everyday

feels like December

but there’s no warmth

like i remember

raining on my summer

wish that i could change the weather

make the sun shine

have you forever

i don’t know if you remember

but i loved you that December

i swear it too

i know you knew.

but that December turned to ashes

now you come to me in flashes

when it pours

and lightning strikes

there’s nothing there for me to cling on tight.

everyday

feels like December

but there’s no warmth

like i remember

it’s still raining

during summer

flowers wilted

wine gone sour

but i remember

even now.
